Taal Volcano The state seismology bureau in the Philippines lowered Taal Volcano’s alert level to 2 due to decreased unrest. The bureau still advised residents to prepare for a quick evacuation if necessary. -Global Disaster Watch The remains of one of two residents who went missing after returning to Volcano Isand following Taal’s eruption last January was found Saturday. The body was found in a boat buried in ash on the island in Barangay Alas-As, San Nicolas, Batangas. Another resident remains missing. He had returned to the island thinking that the volcano’s activities had mellowed down.There had previously been no reported deaths from Taal Volcano’s ash-driven eruption on Jan. 12, which triggered a widespread ashfall across Batangas and even parts of Metro Manila. Thousands of people lost their homes and hundreds of animals also lost their homes and the establishments were destroyed and covered by ashes due to the Taal Volcano Eruption but our countrymen continuing to help even without something in return.
